Second Chances

 

Past remains past, cannot come back for you to change. Future is unseen, even if you try, you’ll never be able to capture it. Present, even that isn’t in your control. Why? You and me do things without thinking, speak things we never mean and feel emotions we never want to feel. So, now tell me is anything in your control at all?  We have been given a life of a mortal human, we miss the sun when it’s snowing, we desperately look for light when darkness consumes us from all directions and we look for chances when we fail. This is does not make you selfish, this shows that despite all odds you are willing to fight, you are willing to at least try. Sometimes, you are given a choice, other times that might not be the case. But is it that a reason for you to stop and be done with your life? There are many questions we come across when we talk about ‘second chance’, because some of us get a second chance some don’t, some of us are willing to grab that second chance others not. Yet, we all live in the name of that one second chance.

Situations make people or break them, some come out stronger, some lost and weak; some survive, others don’t. All your dreams may shatter in front of your eyes, all your relationships might fail and moreover, all your attempts towards a happy life may turn futile. Somewhere in the upcoming or in bygone, life might have pushed you to a fork path where it is either left or right. Where you had to choose no matter what and there is a high possibility of that choice turning into a regret. Nonetheless, if you encounter the same path again, then what to do? Before anything, you must know that you are the luckiest. Everybody doesn’t get a second chance, doesn’t get a chance to choose peace over violence, doesn’t get a reason to move on; doesn’t get a life over death. But remember, above everything not all choices deserve a next try, not all people deserve a second attempt. It is funny that over all betrays, lies and deceits; life offers you a next chance on that same rough path, but it’s up to you whether you run on the path for vengeance, hope, dreams or anger.

A chance will never wait, it will once knock your doors. Those who don’t need that chance will ignore it with much carelessness and some where out there, there will be some one who would be dying a thousand deaths each day because he never got that chance. We all built our castles on the pillars of our expectations, hard work and mostly our destiny. I came a long way in my life without second chance, when I got them, I was naïve to let them slip away from me and when I wanted… I just kept on waiting. I lost my second chances to everything, to everyone but I never lost myself because I always gave myself a next try. Second chance to repair after betrayals, second chance to try again after failures, second chance to breathe after all chokings, second chance to run after every fracture; second chance to all second chances. Even when it was dark all around, cold everywhere and when I was alone; I kept looking for the light, light to my second chance. Salvation isn’t a mythology until you have the courage to make it reality. We can’t correct all our flaws, so let’s have the courage to make mistakes and accept them. Doesn’t matter if you amend them or not, nobody cares how many times you fall to stand highest in the hall of fame, above all.

Life is tricky, but make your life is play on your rules. Choose wisely, because there are millions of choices but not all are for you just like you are not for all of them.
