My journey on YouTube so far
My
journey on YouTube so far⏩
I
started YouTube back in 2018, yeah, I know I’m sounding like as if it has been
a decade, indeed it feels like that. It was a hobby or rather an impulse. It
still goes that way, I never wanted to make it my profession or earn something
out of it, just I wanted to experience how it feels to say “hey everyone,
welcome back to my channel”. I initially started it as a fashion-based content
channel and gradually I shifted from my initial thing to everything like now my
channel will show you everything and when I say everything, I really mean it.
Interesting fact: YouTube is the second most used social media app in the
world. Surprised? Anyhow, it is this way and creators like me only make a tiny
space in the entire universe of YouTube. But this is out my concern for now,
because right now, I am inactive due to my grade 10th but as I might
be saying this a hundredth time in my blogs (okay, I’m exaggerating! I know) my
boards got cancelled but never mind there is always a second chance. I’m a
believer, situations made me. Okay, we are getting off topic, focus!
For
those who wish to start a channel or just wanting to understand the whole
concept of content creating, here are a few points I’ve learned in my three-
year experience. It’s easy to create an account and make a channel but it is
considerably difficult to remain active and post the videos on scheduled time
because you see, like other apps you need to have a content video and not a
song lip sync of fifteen seconds (now, I’m aware that YouTube started YT
shorts, but that’s different). Then secondly, everyone makes videos but that
just not enough there is lot that is put behind those ten minutes, you brainstorm,
you plan, you shoot and finally you edit; this all is lot time consuming
process that freshers don’t realise. If you think you’ll post a video go
straight to the trending tab then let me remind you we live in the world 7.8
billion population unless you are someone who create songs out of same words
again and again (you are smart people, take the hint!). you need to be patient,
very patient. On a personal note, it should not be a concern to you unless you
are well based with some lakhs of subscribers. Thirdly, create something that
people would like to watch, I realised that nobody would be interested in my
shopping haul because I’m no Kylie Jenner, so creating something relatable
attracts the viewers, even if they are just a fifty.
Before
I conclude, let’s say if you are thinking of pursuing a career as a
content-creator, you need to keep one thing in mind, it is just like gambling,
by saying this what I mean is, it depends upon your luck. Everybody shows you
their morning routines but not all of them are with a million of views. Factors which
make this difference is quality, effort and a lot of luck. But then again,
everything has two sides, so if you feel you are capable of miracles then why
wasting time, grab your camera and head start. Overall, I love myself for
catering such a diverse hobby and I will keep on going until you know I’m no more entitled (wait what? Entitled?). huff! Let’s just sum up, everything has
chances, but that doesn’t mean every chance is right for you. Learn to balance,
because a manged person always makes the best of his days. I’ve learnt a lot by
YouTube and so far, it was a flamboyant journey and something that will always
give me happiness.
Sending
you lots of positivity in these hard times,
Priyal🙋
PS. AH! It was nostalgic to remember, I even started to watch my very first video
and I laughed because I’ve grown, a lot. *fake tears*. So, let’s meet you on
Sunday with the topic ‘what it is to be a public speaker?’ lots of tips, general errors and myths we
have about public speaking will be included. Now, I’m good to go. Bye!
